 The study curriculum Health Care at Artesis University College Antwerp comprises 3 professional Bachelor programmes and 1 academic Bachelor and Master programme.Our Bachelor courses in Occupational Therapy, Nursing, and Midwifery are spread over three academic years; the Master programme in the Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy lasts five academic years. All teaching activities are offered from a national, international and/or multicultural perspective. The Health Care Department offers a transparent, solid-based, and qualitative learning environment where the student's personality and individuality is key. As a student, you will be able to follow your individualized trajectory, keeping into account your personal development. Intensive guidance and coaching will teach you to assume the end responsibility for your learning processes and progress. Our programmes search for an equitable balance between knowledge and competency-oriented learning, which is reflected in an ongoing alternation of theory and practice, both on campus and out in the professional field. Traineeships offer you the opportunity to integrate your acquired knowledge and learned skills into real professional situations. Throughout the process, a questioning appraisal and a healthy dose of self-reflection are the most important starting principles. The Health Care Department promotes mutual trust and respect amongst students, instructors, and patients. We are, in fact, convinced that this generates an attitude and sense of independent and self-directed life-long learning, something that is absolutely needed in our fast evolving knowledge society.
