Students that are intent upon pursuing a career in education will unquestionably discover a wealth of possibilities and opportunities within the field of teacher training offered at Artesis University College Antwerp.
In addition to three professional Bachelor programmes in education, teacher training also leads to a Bachelor-after-Bachelor and a postgraduate programme.
For instance, one can choose from amongst the Bachelor programmes in pre-school education, primary education, or secondary education. Each of these programmes is of three-year duration during which time students are trained to become professional advisors and guides in learning and development processes: instructors and teachers that with professional expertise acquaint pre-schoolers, young children, and teeners with the world outside and provide support and guidance on the road to adulthood.
In the Bachelor programme Secondary Education, students can opt for a combination of 2 subjects to become proficient as classroom teachers: from geography to mathematics, besides physical education and music, but also construction or nutrition/nursing.
For students interested in continuing their studies, there is the choice between a Bachelor-after-Bachelor degree in Special Education (part-time courses spread over two years) plus a postgraduate teacher programme in non-denominational moral theory - basic education level (one year).
