Around 400 experts in higher education and quality assurance from more than 40 countries will gather in Belgium this week (17-19 November) for the Sixth European Quality Assurance Forum (EQAF), hosted by the University of Antwerp and Artesis University College, Antwerp .
Over the past five years, the EQAF has become a landmark event for HE professionals working in quality assurance (QA) who are keen to network and stay up-to-date with the latest European developments in the field. This has become increasingly important with the internationalisation of higher education and the growing importance of QA procedures for universities.
Over three days, international experts will give presentations around the Forum theme “Quality and Trust: at the heart of what we do”.
The first plenary session will examine how the recent quality assurance developments in Europe relate to the global context and how they appear from an external perspective. The session will also reflect on the diversity of QA tools across the continent, as well as on commonalities in the European approach to QA. Other sessions will look at how to ensure that the enhancement of higher education quality remains the focus of quality assurance processes, and whether QA has succeeded in building trust among internal and external stakeholders. A series of paper presentations and thematic workshops will allow participants to follow up on these discussions in smaller groups.
The event is co-organised by the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA), the European Students’ Union (ESU), the European University Association (EUA) and the European Association of Institutions in Higher Education (EURASHE).
